I'm just a small backyard gardener, who grows veganically, and loves growing different varieties of true to type veggies, seed saving, and trading & sharing.
I'm best at growing tomatoes, but I'm trying to learn how to be better at growing, other veggies, herbs and benificial flowers, and some grains.
I hope to get good enogh at growing, to supply enough of the edibles mentioned above, to have enough of them, for my small family to eat for a year.
I really don't like buying produce grown and handled by others anymore, as I know mine were raised veganically, and weren't handled by anyone but me, and are the freshest possible.
Last year, I got over 144 ping pong ball sized tomatoes, from one tomato variety (Amur Tiger) to last 6 months or more. I froze them, and still have at least 4 sets of 12 tomatoes left.
This year, I started about 15 different varieties of tomatoes, of many colors and shapes.
I'm trying to grow so many, because I'm starting a seed bank. I have a few seeds, to over 300 varieties of tomatoes, some are fairly rare. But, if I grow them out, and share seed to them, there's no reason they need to be rare or hard to get for anyone to get again because there will be hundreds of seeds to each banked and available at any time.
